I am selling this property for some friends of mine, but I sold it to them so can answer your questions.
North Side of Cabin
If you want a place with fantastic views, trees everywhere, lots of blue sky and the friendliest people in the country, then this is for you! This parcel is in south central Missouri near the little town of Raymondville, which is about 7 miles from Houston, Missouri. It is also close to the Current River, which is part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
In addition, this parcel has rural water, electric and phone right to it and a creek running across it!(see topo map at bottom) The land is rolling with a level section near the road and slopes down to a valley on the west end where the seasonal creek is located. The creek doesn’t always flow year around, but usually has a pool or two with water in them most of the year.
North Side Looking South
This is pure Ozark Country. Lots of trees, rolling hills and blissfully quiet valleys. The nearest neighbors are across the road to the east. There is also a semi-retired couple to the northwest who are very nice. I have known them for years. The parcel is 330 feet wide and 1320 feet deep or 10 acres. Access is good and electric, phone and the water line run along Medlock Drive right to the property. The area is very private yet just over an two hours from Springfield (and another 1/2 hour to Branson). It is about three hours from St Louis.
Inside of Cabin
The cabin was built four years ago by Amish neighbors and is VERY solid (see photos) It is 16 feet wide by 24 feet deep with beams across the rear half for a loft. (There is even a window up there) It has a full covered 8 foot deck on the front as well as a small covered deck off the northwest corner overlooking the valley with the creek. It has Anderson Thermopane windows and two glass doors, so you have plenty of light as well as views in every direction. The cabin is not plumbed or wired. The electric pole and meter and water lines are about a 100 feet from the cabin on Medlock Drive.
Front Door
The logs for the cabin were harvested by two Amish brothers and then milled to size. The brothers then built the entire cabin using hand tools. It is truly a unique, one of a kind cabin.
Medlock Drive
The county road, Medlock Drive, comes in from the South, at the end of the paved portion of “V” Highway, and is gravel. “V” highway is paved and goes West to State Highway 137 which goes north about 7 miles to Licking or South 5 miles to Raymondville. Raymondville is about 7 miles East of Houston, Missouri, a town of about 4000 with a Super Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Hardee’s and other ammenties.
There are no building restrictions, building codes, or zoning in Texas County. You can do what you want!
